Our Mission Statement

Let the Fun begin!!

To say everyone is busy would be an understatement and Terry is not exempt from this statement!! Being a dorm parent is no easy task, with long hours, and random dorm malfunctions, you must give the man credit for being able to keep some sanity!!  Anyway, I have some free time on my hands and offered to send out a blog to update everyone!!

First things, first…GET ALL YO STUFF IN!!!!!! Seriously, it is very important that we get all of the paperwork and final payments.  I know you all are working very hard and it is easy to get distracted, but take a minute to do a check!!  Here is what needs to be in for the forms:
1.     Application – this should have been sent in weeks ago, so if Terry and Margaret do not have it GET IT TOO THEM (and yes I’m yelling!!)
2. Photocopy of your passport.  Some of you may not have your passport yet, but as soon as you get them send a copy to Terry, preferably colored.
3.     Rule Sheets – These have to be signed and notarized BY EVERYONE, ADULTS TOO!!!!
4.   Spanish Consent form – this has to be signed and notarized for those who are under 18, get them in!!
5.     Terry needs flight information as well.  I know some of you have not booked your flights, but when you do just send him the flight info.  If you are in a group, let your group leader do it so there isn’t 501 emails he has to read.
6. Send 2 photos (about the size of the passport pictures, one should be attached to the application and the additional one is for the trip.)
7. The balance payment for the trip needs to be in ($820, all checks need to be made out to Western Hills and mailed to Terry: F-HU Staff Box 139, East Main Street Henderson, TN 38340)

TERRY LEAVES IN ABOUT A MONTH SO GET THIS IN ASAP!!!!  THE CHECKS NEED TO BE IN NO LATER THAN MAY 10, IF THAT IS A PROBLEM YOU NEED TO CONTACT TERRY/MARGARET TO DISCUSS THAT WITH THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*See that wasn’t too bad!!

This past week there were a couple of days some of the Freed-Hardeman students came together to breakdown and sort materials.  We had a few, mainly girls and Terry, bring several supplies from the North Jackson Church of Christ in Jackson, TN to add to the items.  On Sunday we boxed up several boxes of clothes, hygiene materials, stuffed animals, and Mi Esperanza supplies.  The fun continued Monday, and Tuesday.  The Freed-Hardeman bunch packed at least 200 – 300 boxes.  Then Terry loaded up and made the trip to Tampa, FL to meet up with the Bell Shoals (Represent) group!!  From my understanding, the group, who call themselves the A team, loaded up over 600 boxes, furniture, 115 chairs that were donated by a school and never broke a sweat.  Ok I’m fibbing about the sweat, but they did beat the rain!!  The truck is headed to Miami and then will make the long trip to Honduras.

I am so excited about being in Honduras is just two months!!  It will be here before we know it!!  I hope you all continue to pray for the trip!  If you have any questions regarding TORCH trips please contact any of us.  Have a great, wonderful, amazing Sunday!!!

In Him,
Brandy B
